Both originally from Sussex, Ben and Louise became friends while studying the same degree course - Fashion Design with Knitwear at Central Saint Martins - where their passion for slow hand craft was reaffirmed.

They founded Bouclé in Hackney, in 2020, combining their commitment to slow craft with a love for candles and research into holistic health. They still hand-pour all of their vegan soy wax 100% essential oil candles and other all-natural products in their home studios in East London & Brighton, using the finest ingredients.

When they aren’t working in the studio, they are most likely to be found on the south coast seaside, cycling in the Essex countryside or crocheting in the sun.
